Air Sports Trading cards: Augmented Reality enhanced trading cards
About
This project will solely focus on the use of Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance the experience of sports trading cards by allowing users to see statistics and player images come to life by the use of a mobile phone or tablet.
Branding
The branding for this project consisted of a fictional football team, Lockdown AFC. This team was also used during the lockdowns of 2020 as a fifa pro clubs team, of which my friends and i played at the time. The cards themselves are modelled from topps trading card game, Match Attax but with Augmented reality enhancements.

Project Progression
Throughout the project everything from the initial design to the final project there haven been many different attempts to make this project complete. The majority of the assets seen within this project are original and shot, design and produced by me. the project started with the design of the Cards.
Seen above is the variations of card designs that were produced throughout the project. To the left was the first completed card design and to the right id the final design of the cards.
In order to capture the images for the cards we staged a photoshoot with a robust set up. Here I had each of the models hold similar poses, which ultimately be used for the cards themselves.
Adobe Aero was used to create the AR Aspect of this project. By importing graphics created in illustrator it was easily brought across the two softwares.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the cards had been printed and prepared for presentation at Fís this year. Overall the project and its timeline ran smoothly and this project was quite an enjoyable one to create. My hope is that this project is the start of something that will revolutionise the way in which trading card games are created an played going forward.
